This Role Requires a True 3PL Operator
Our Client is seeking a reliable and organized Junior Buyer to support procurement operations across assigned categories. This role is critical to ensuring purchase orders are executed accurately and on time, inventory risks are identified early, and vendors are coordinated effectively.
This is not a general administrative role. It requires someone who takes ownership of their work, follows established processes with precision, and communicates proactively with internal stakeholders and vendors.

Role Purpose
Support procurement operations by ensuring timely and accurate purchase order execution, maintaining data integrity, and assisting with vendor coordination. The Junior Buyer contributes to continuity of supply by following established processes, supporting inventory management, and responding promptly to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Execution
- Create and process purchase orders in SAP based on approved requisitions
- Ensure accuracy of PO details including pricing, quantities, units of measure, and delivery dates
- Track order confirmations and follow up with vendors as required
Inventory Support
- Monitor inventory levels and flag shortages or risks in a timely manner
- Support inventory accuracy by ensuring timely updates and communication
Vendor Coordination
- Communicate with vendors to confirm orders, delivery timelines, and resolve basic issues
- Escalate complex vendor issues to the Senior Buyer or Procurement Manager
Stakeholder Support
- Respond to internal inquiries within 24 hours with accurate and clear information
- Provide timely updates on order status and delivery timelines
Data and Compliance
- Maintain accurate data in SAP
- Follow procurement policies and procedures consistently
- Support reporting and data clean-up activities as required
What Success Looks Like
0 to 3 Months
- Learn SAP procurement processes and create purchase orders with minimal errors
- Understand basic vendor terms and purchasing workflows
- Accurately process assigned requisitions and maintain data integrity
- Build working relationships with internal teams and vendors
3 to 6 Months
- Independently manage assigned purchase orders from creation to confirmation
- Improve speed and accuracy of PO processing
- Proactively follow up on orders and flag risks early
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of inventory impact
6 to 12 Months
- Consistently meet or exceed KPIs for accuracy and timeliness
- Support basic vendor performance tracking
- Identify minor process improvements and raise recommendations
- Begin supporting more complex purchasing activities with guidance
Required Experience
- College diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a procurement, purchasing, or administrative support role
- Basic ERP knowledge; SAP experience is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Willingness to learn and a collaborative, accountable mindset
Candidates without demonstrated experience in a procurement or purchasing environment will not be considered.
